WHY?

I know you’ve been here before. “How hard could it really be?”, you say to yourself as you begin watching Youtube tutorials about how to dial in the perfect vocal sound. “These drums sound pretty meh”, you mutter as you watch yet ANOTHER tutorial on how to eq a snare.

Listen, what those Youtube guys will NEVER tell you is that no matter how many plug ins you buy, or “quick tips” videos you watch, your mixes will never sound good until you’ve spent YEARS training you ears for what to listen to and how to problem solve effectively within a mix. There is no “trick” that I know, and am withholding from you. There is only this truth: Time on task (and a TON of it) is the only way to become a great mix engineer. There is no “one size fits all” approach.

You could literally buy every plug in that exists, but an experience audio engineer can still mix circles around you with a stock eq and compressor.
